Regular Group Classes

Please wear pants and bring a pair of socks to classes. Floor works and stretching exercises will be included to strengthen your body/leg power.  

Lily will use different exercises to get you (and your body muscle) understand the techniques in tango with details in the movements including walking, ochos, giro, boleo, ganchos, etc.  Embellishment will also be introduced to make you look more elegant and stylish in dancing. Beside, secrets of inducing more sensual feelings in the dance will also be shared.   

The exercises taught in class can be done at home, it's a good way to prepare ourselves to be able to do the movement on our own with perfect balance and with ease, so that when we dance with men, we can concentrate on following their lead, and so, you can be more sensitive, and at the same time, be naturally elegant!

The course will focus on one group choreography for several couples with 8 consecutive classes. You may be invited to join additional rehearsals after completing the course to prepare for some performances in the coming events including Hong Kong Tango Festival (in NOV 2010), Outdoor Milongas (in Oct and Nov 2010), Practica Otro (special showtime) and some other events.

Note:

• Don't be afraid that you are not good enough to do performance, if you work on specific choreography, you will be able to do something that you cannot imagine yourselves possibly doing that. Our experience shows that students can improve much faster in the dance technique and posture, it can also help improve the improvisation in dancing socially.

• Some movements may be tailored designed to the level of different couples during the solo part and we'll make sure you can manage them before the show.
• Don't worry if you cannot attend all the classes, if you miss 1-2 classes, we can help you to catch up in other chances eg. practicas.
• You can join the classes even if you do not intend to join the show, it's still a good training.
• Registration in couple will be considered first, if you have no partner but still want to join, you can send us email and we can help to match you up with a partner if available. Students who can commit all classes

We shall focus on the technique in executing movements and improving the connection and leading rather than the movements themselves. We work in detail for correct posture, centre, axis, dissociation, leg extension, energy level,  giving clear intention, responding with resistance, how to be light but grounded etc...  We shall use different steps to train the same technique until you get it. Once the basic technique behind the movement is there, many steps becomes much easier.   

No need to register for the class as they are drop-in classes.

Private classes are more effective to students and couples in many ways. Some private classes have immediate impact, once they understand the concept or they feel how their body should move or response, they changed totally in just one class. Many students come to us hoping to correct some long time problems which they have struggled for a while, like, "we have problems always in Giros, can you tell us how to improve it?" or "i can never do a good boleo, can you correct me?" ... and some they just come to say "i just want to improve, but i don't know what i should do, pls tell me ... " . In many private classes, we don't teach steps, but we teach the quality of each movement with style and feelings, and aesthetic refinement, which is not easy to be taught in group classes ... So, private classes are really more effective for personal refinement.  

1 teacher to 1 - 2 students   : $600/hr * ($500/hr discounted package price)
2 teachers to 1 student        : $700/hr * ($600/hr discounted package price)
2 teachers to 2 students      : $900/hr * ($800/hr discounted package price)  

* We offer discount of $100.-less each hour for packages of at least 4 hours in total. We encourage students to take a number of classes with us so that we can guide you through the progress. To enjoy the discount, we need you to schedule the dates and times of the 4 classes before starting of the first class, you can still make changes occasionally, but it can help to secure studio bookings at your desirable time.  Studio rental not included in the tuition fee above.  

NEW !!! ... Small Group Private Classes Special promotion (for 4-6 students)

We introduce Small Group Private Classes because we have been requested for something in between group classes and private classes. For some students, private classes are too expensive, but group classes may not fit their time schedules and they may not  get enough attention to correct their problems. So, small group private is a very good solution with these features : -    

• Cost - Big reduction from normal 1:1 private classes  
• Time - More flexible to fit your schedule
• Venue - CWB, Central, Wanchai, Jordan ... studios very near MTR at your choice 
• Content of Classes - Target your areas of interest 
• Classmates - Join with friends at similar levels

In these group privates, we shall only have 2-3 couples, and students can group friends at similar levels to take the classes. They can request what they want to learn, and then we work on those areas in particular to solve their problems. Or they can just leave it to us to teach what we think they should work on. It's like condensed group classes with more individual attention.

1 teacher to upto 3 couples  : $700/hr **  ($600/hr discounted package price, and further discount of $100/hr would be refund to students if no change of schedule by students is made. Therefore only $500/hr with all the discounts)                                                                         

2 teachers to upto 3 couples  : $900/hr **  ($800/hr discounted package price, and further discount of $100/hr would be refund to students if no change of schedule by students is made. Therefore only $700/hr with all the discounts)  

** We offer discount of $100.-less each hour for packages of at least 6 hours in total. You can either have 4 classes x 1.5 hour or 6 classes x 1 hour. To enjoy further discount, we need to discuss with you to fix the group schedule in advance. If no change of schedule is made by students, we would refund further $100/hr in the last lesson. Studio rental is not included in the tuition fee above.
