We are proud to present  performance by teachers from Taiwan (Derrick & Agnes), Korea (Hung-yut & Hwayi) and Hong Kong (Lily & Raymond)

Agnes y Derrick About Agnes and Derrick

Derrick and Agnes have been partners since they were studying in National Taiwan University and have been dancing tango together for many years. They have studied tango from masters in many different places, such as Argentina, United States, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Turkey...etc. In spite of having their respective professions, they are professional tango dancers, teachers and choreographers giving regular tango lessons, performances and workshops in Taiwan. They have been invited for speeches, workshops and performances in several countries such as Japan and China and also interviewed by a lot of media and press. In year 2006, they participated in Asian Tango Championship in Tokyo and won the Creative Expression prize and also entered semi-final round in Argentine Tango Championship.Their vibrant and breezy dance is always popular and their interpretation of tango along with interactions with each other make a very unique and impressive style.

About Hwayi and Hung-Yut

Florencia (Hwayi) studied ballet in high school and college, and subsequently worked as a professional musical actress for 8 years. In 2004, she participated in the World Tango Championship in Buenos Aires and won second prize in the stage section.
Leonel (Hung-Yut) grew up in Hong Kong but spent most of his adult life in the United States. In 2002, he won first prize at the USA Tango Contest in Los Angeles. He met Florencia in Korea in 2005, soon thereafter they began their partnership.

Together they are very active in promoting Argentine Tango culture in Korea. Besides teaching, performing, and organizing milongas, they have also invited Javier Rodriguez and Andrea Misse to Seoul for annual workshops since 2007. They are organizing their first Seoul Tango Festival in May 2009, which is attracting dancers from all over Asia and beyond.

Leonel is also a reputable DJ. He plays music regularly in Seoul, and has been invited to DJ at various Tango festivals inside and outside of Korea.

Lily y Raymond

About Lily and Raymond

Lily began ballet and modern dance training in her early years. She has performed for different local modern dance groups and her choreography debut"tied" was award the silver prize of a dance choreography competition in 2000. She started tango in 2003 and was invited to perform in Taipei Tango Festival and Hong Kong Latin America Festival 2005. She was an instructor for workshop organized by HKU and has been teaching for several tango groups. She works on integrating the natural dynamic of modern dance with classical elegance of tango. She devoted herself totally to Tango dancing apart from her fulltime job as an architect.

Raymond crushed on Tango since 2003. He has followed many renowned teachers and also stayed at Buenos Aires to study Tango. Since 2005 he has giving performances in lots of occasions and also invited by TangoTang, the largest Tango Club in Hong Kong as a guest teacher.

Lily and Raymond have toured the major city to learn tango. They are both fond of a mixture of traditional and Nuevo tango, integrating into their unique style. They entered the semi-final in the World Tango Championship in Busan, Korea in 2008.
