What does tango-jack think about the instrument and also tango music?

I have talked to Jun Hayakawa about  his tango music. Here is the note from him:

We think that tango is fascinating and full of diversification. With the well-organized ensemble of classical music, and also the freedom of jazz, expressing people's emotions vividly either being cool or passionate. Depends on the player /audience interpretation, it makes a big difference.

We think the bandoneon is a mysterious instrument. It seems that it has refused to be played with by having all the complicated and completely irrational button arrangement. However, once skilled player start playing, as magic begins, it breathes and begins to sing like a living creature.

The most attractive element is the tune. Mechanical but sorrow, cool but passionate sound is deeply hitting everyone's heart.

We'd like to introduce the attractiveness of this instrument, which is seldom known, through our concerts, and hope that the instrument which is not manufactured nowadays to be inherited to the future, without going out of use.

When we compose, first we have an image of sound which will become the basic melody. And then we try playing it, developing it by adding more texture. We decide the titles from the image of sound in the process of or when finished composing.

1. Thank You All for the Support!
Just want to write a quick note to give thanks for all the people who came and supported our Tango-jack concert series in the last two days!

Last night at the City Hall Concert in Central, we had a full house of over 100 attendees with special guests Argentine General Consul Mr. & Mr. Rescic and our workshop teachers/performers, Laila & Leandro from Buenos Aires. Tango-jack presented a spetacular concert not only with famous compositions from Astor Piazolla, but also their several pieces of their own compositions created by band leader/badoneon Jun Hayakawa and pianist Shintaro Mieda to showcase their multiple talents! Their music was fused with passion and tremendous layers of emotions...it was exciting and moving! I personally thoroughly enjoyed the concert and hope all the attendees did as well.

Jun also gave the audience a little history lesson on the bandoneon and demonstration on how the instrument keys would work and play out with the contrast and expansion of the belt! I must say it seems very difficult and very different from the typical keyboard...I learned to give more respect to the bandoneon musicians!

Again, thanks for the support and we hope to conduct more tango concert series and have Tango-jack back to Hong Kong again!
